Pete Holm, a long time sailor of South Sound, sailed his own boat as well as crewing for a number of SSSS sailors the last 15 years. He did all of the big races up North as well as many of the local races. Pete had a wide circle of friends. Beside sailing Pete loved hiking, music, reading, poetry, puppetry, and farming. Pete was active in many community activities and organizations such as AA, conservation organizations like Capitol and Chehalis River Basin Land Trusts. Pete retire from DSHS after many years as a budget analyst.
Pete passed on March 8. There will be a memorial service for him March 27th at 1400 at the Rochester Methodist church. His full obituary was published in the Daily Olympian, March 21, 2010.
