Temporary Addenda to SSSS NOR and Sailing Instructions
For “extra casual” covid Hope Island race. No awards or season points, just racing with friends.
Classes/start time: Two classes. Two start times.
Class 1 130 and faster. Start after 10:00:00 local GPS time.
Class 2 131 and slower. Start after 09:30:00 local GPS time.
No RC boat. No signals. No postponement. Be nice.

Course for both Classes:
Start/Finish is a line extending 600’ easterly from the Olympia Shoal dolphin. When the green #1 buoy and the dolphin line up, you’re on the line. Cross the line within 600 feet (0.10 nautical mile) of the dolphin.
Classes 1 and 2 Round Hope Island in either direction. Full race 13.0 n.m. Half race 6.5 n.m (if used).
NOTE: IF I’m anchored at the Halfway point I will record “half way” times. If the wind is light, it’s more likely I’ll be there. If I’m not there, sail on to the finish, no Half Race.

Results: We will post results of the full race. We will post the half way results if I record the half way times. Record and report your full race finish time in local time using GPS or cellphone time. (example 17:23:53, i.e. 5:23:53 p.m.)
Email your times to in this format:
Class #, Sail number, Boat name, Finish time. Also report the boat name(or sail number) ahead and behind you, if feasible.
Report your time before 1:00 p.m. Sunday. No late reports!
(If your email is broken, text or voice message your results to me at 360 561 7734.)

Time Limit: 8 hours. But seriously, when your fun quotient drops below 1, go home!!
Safety: Skippers and crew should adhere to current county and state rules for antivirus protection. A reminder, US Sailing Nearshore safety equipment (as revised by SSSS) is required for our SSSS distance racing.
