CLASS FULL, REGISTRATION CLOSED: The South Sound Sailing Society, Olympia Yacht Club, and Olympia Community Sailing are co-sponsoring a class on First Aid for boaters.  In addition to basic first aid, CPR, and the use of AEDs, the class will go into greater depth for trauma, control of serious bleeding, head neck & spinal injuries, patient handling and evacuation procedures.

It will be taught by Captain Thomas Bliss, who is a Licensed USCG Master Mariner and 30-year resident of the Maritime Community of Gig Harbor

He dedicates his time to educate professional mariners and recreational boaters and logs approximately 2800 hours a year in various safety training courses for emergency responders, including complex Search and Rescue training courses and “Fast Rescue Boat” crew on-the-water operations.

The course will be at the Olympia Yacht Club on Saturday, February 24, beginning at 9:00 am and concluding by 4:00 pm. The registration fee is $99 and the class will be limited to 20 individuals.
