Temporary Addenda to SSSS NOR and Sailing Instructions
For “extra casual” covid Eld Inlet race. No awards or season points, just racing with friends.
Classes/start time: Two classes. Two start times.
- Class 1 130 and faster. Start at or after 10:00:00 local GPS time.
- Class 2 131 and slower. Start at or after 09:30:00 local GPS time.
No RC boat. No signals. No postponement. Be nice.
Course for both Classes:
- Start/Finish is a line extending 600’ easterly from the Olympia Shoal dolphin. When the green #1 buoy and the dolphin line up, you’re on the line. Cross the line within 600 feet (0.10 nautical mile) of the dolphin.
Classes 1 and 2 Round mark boat near Flapjack Point to port. Full race 11.1 n.m. Half race 5.6 n.m.
NOTE: The mark boat will record “half way” times.
NOTE: Have a plan to accurately record your own finish time.
Results: We will post results of the full race and the halfway results. Record and report your full race finish time in local time using GPS or cellphone time. (example 17:23:53, i.e. 5:23:53 p.m.)
Email your times to in this format:
- Class #, Sail number, Boat name, Finish time.
- Please report the boat name (or sail number) ahead and behind you, if feasible.
- Report your time before 1:00 p.m. Sunday. No late reports!

Time Limit: 8 hours. But seriously, when your fun quotient drops below 1, go home!!
Safety: Skippers and crew should adhere to current county and state rules for antivirus protection. A reminder, US Sailing Nearshore safety equipment (as revised by SSSS) is required for our SSSS distance racing.
